I live outside the US or Canada, can I still sign up for the Online Starter System?
Yes, but...
Payment
We conduct payment transactions through Paypal (though you can of course pay with a credit card) and PayPal will take care of the exchange (or your credit card company) will manage the exchange rates. The default setting for address is in the US, so just pick any state and then when you enter your custom information for your website, you can let us know your actual address. We hope to be updating the system soon to allow for the choice of other countries. ß
Business Materials
When you sign up, you'll get business card, brochure, and letterhead templates that are Word files, so you can just fill in your information and print them directly from your home printer, so it shouldn't matter where you are for those.
For the upgraded business cards (purchased separately), it's usually prohibitely expensive to ship from our printer because it's in the US. But, we can provide you with the JPG (image files) and you can upload them yourself to any place in your country you find that has a good rate. The other thing to consider is that we know that the place we print here in the states produces EXCELLENT quality products but we don't have any experience with printers in other countries.

I want to order the Online Starter System but I'm going through a busy period in my life right now. Do I have to get it all finalized right away? What if I want to make changes at a later date?
When you signup with your name, basic bio, photo and contact info, we'll set up the basic site for you with our default text. We then have a two-week period where we make as many changes as you want to get it just right. After that, we do updates once a month.
However, in order to accomodate your busy schedule, we would be glad to get it set up for you and then later on, whenever you let us know you're ready, we can start that two-week fine-tuning period.
We are committed to making sure that you get the site just how you want it in the time frame that works for you.

Can I order the Online Starter System if I am using a Mac?
Absolutely. We set everything up on our system, so it doesn't matter whether you use Windows or Mac OS.

What if I already own my own domain?
If you already have your own domain name, you have three options if you want to continue to use it.
1. The simplest way is to forward your domain names to your subdomain on our site, that way when someone types in "www.yourdomain.com" it automatically sends them to "www.yoursubdomain.myeftwebsite.com." We can assist you in changing the settings to do that.
2. You can purchase one of our stand-alone templates ($175 USD) with the option of using our setup service ($100 USD) by clicking here. Please read the next question below for more information.

Can you tell me more about the option to buy a template?
Our stand-alone templates are available for purchase for $175. This is a great option for people who already have a site & domain name with hosting, but who want the ease of using our graphic design and/or content.

Your MyEFTwebsite Template Includes These Pages with Our EFT Text Already Provided:

Once purchased, you have total flexibility to change these templates however you'd like. You (or your web person) can upload the template to the hosting company for your site. You (or they) would be able to modify any and all aspects of it. Essentially, it's just a one-time sale, and we wouldn't be part of the set-up, update, or maintaining it.
If you need help setting up your website template, we offer a setup service for an additional $100. You would give us access to your hosting site (we'd need the FTP information) and we would do the work for you. That way we could do all the initial setup for you, you'd keep the domain name, and you'd have access to the site as you do to your site now.
Most pages of your site wouldn't need frequent updating (we'll include an update once/a month for a year) and you could use the blog for any other more frequent updates, announcements, articles, etc.

What if I need my website in a language other than English?
Our sites are currently only in English, however we'd be happy to provide you with the text we use on our sites and you can translate it to the language of your choice and then we can post it on your site. If that's something you'd be interested in, send us an email and we'll be happy to provide you with the text to get started on. The normal monthly price applies and we would reserve the right to use the translated text for other websites.

Site Features
What is a blog and why would I want one?
Blogs are the new wave in online technology because they allow interaction between the person posting the blog and the people reading it. It's easy to add and find content by date or by subject, and it matches the feel and style of your new EFT website.
When you submit a blog posting, people can comment on your blog, creating a lively discussion and more fodder for future blogs. You can login using the information in your welcome email to modify your blog postings (and delete this one).
If you currently have a newsletter you publish, you can use this blog to post full-length articles, which you can then link to via your newsletter.
And, you can even submit new articles/postings to your website with the touch of a button, simply by sending an email to a special blogging address (also provided in your welcome email).

Will I be able to change/update my picture?
Of course. During the two-week setup phase you can change it as many times as you'd like, just send us the new files. After that, you can change it up to once per month as part of your monthly updates.

Can I change the wording on any of the pages, or just on the 'About Me' and 'Contact' pages?
As far as we're concerned, you can change any and all of the content on any of the pages. We provide stand-alone content so that you don't HAVE to come up with all the content for your site, but if you so desire, or already have content you prefer, you're welcome to send it to us to use instead.
The easiest way to go about this is to send an e-mail with the subject line describing the content, and then we'll just go ahead and paste it into the site. We aren't checking for typos etc. Those are your responsibility, however if you catch them, (and thanks for catching the one one you mentioned!) we're happy to change them.

Will I be able to review my site and make corrections before it's finalized?
Absolutely. We want you to be completely satisfied with your site. Here's how the setup process works. We'll put the website up with all our default content (or any extra content you provide during the signup process) for you to review. Then, you can get back to us with any changes/additions/deletions.
This is when you would give us the HTML for your newsletter sign-up form, the code to embed any other videos you want to include on the main pages of the site (note, there are already a number of videos included in the site), any additional affiliate links, replacement text you want, etc.
The overall structure/skeleton has to stay the same because it's simply too time consuming to make those custom changes and keep our prices low. You won't be able to change the format/layout of the site, that is, the navigation bar, the layout with the sidebar on the right, the colors, etc.
But adding in any copy or html is no problem.

Will I be able to change the content on the website myself?
Yes. All the content on the blog page you can change without ever having to go through us, or you can ask us to make the changes for you on any of the other pages of your site.

I wish to use my website to promote some of my other passions as well. Will I be able to do this with your kit?
Yes, your blog is the best place to do that. Or you can ask us to add other content during the two-week setup period or at any monthly update thereafter.

Will I be able to have PayPal on my site?
Absolutely. When you sign up for a PayPal account and create a "buy now" button, you can copy and paste the code for your button into an e-mail if you want us to post it in one of the static pages of your site, or you can login to blogger.com and insert it in the "view html" tab of your posting.

Will I be able to track visitors to my website?
Certainly. You can just visit www.StatCounter.com or www.GoogleAnalytics.com and sign up for a free account, then e-mail us with the tracking code they provide you. We'll put it onto each page of your site for you and you'll be able to login to their service to track your visitors.

What software was used to create the templates?
Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver were used to create the website templates. Microsoft Word was used to create the complimentary business card, letterhead, and brochure templates.

I want to setup a newsletter for my website. Is there a company you recommend?
Yes! There are two companies we particularly like, depending on your needs. We love www.MailChimp.com and find that it suits the needs of most of our customers. (Yes, we prefer it to www.ConstantContact.com, plus it's cheaper. And, you can always export your contact list to switch to a new company.)
Or, for those who are more internet-savvy, we recommend www.Aweber.com.
